Trigger Point Myofascial Release
Service Description
A therapeutic technique designed to release tight, knotted areas of muscle known as trigger points. These points are often the result of muscle overuse, injury, or poor posture, and can cause pain and restricted movement. The therapy involves applying sustained pressure to specific points on the muscle or fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles) to release tension and improve flexibility. Trigger point myofascial release helps to reduce muscle pain, inflammation, and restricted movement by targeting and deactivating the trigger points. This technique can be performed using fingers, thumbs, or tools to apply deep, focused pressure for 30-90 seconds at a time. The release of trigger points helps restore normal blood flow, improve muscle function, and alleviate referred pain. It is often used for treating chronic conditions like fibromyalgia, TMJ disorders, and muscle spasms. The therapy can also enhance overall relaxation and reduce muscle stiffness. It is commonly used in conjunction with other treatments, such as stretching and massage, for comprehensive pain relief. Regular trigger point release can help prevent the reoccurrence of tightness and improve posture.
